London – mental health issues!

A report commissioned by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London states that the cost of mental illness and mental health issues costs London over £25 billion.

You may be surprised to learn that over 25% of  people living in London will have a mental health condition in any one year! The Department of Health report, reveals that the impact of mental ill health is greater than cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Close to £7.5 billion is spent each year to address mental ill health in London including health and social care to treat illness, benefits to support people living with mental ill health, and costs to education services and the criminal justice system.
